We'll see if this works. This is a short video I took with my cell phone from the Cheohala Scenic Byway in North Carolina. It was very chilly up there and very beautiful. My real camera had broken by this point in my trip so this quality is not really very good. You'll probably have to have high speed internet to view it.

Here then is another one from the Skyway, but further along the road. This was at about 3500 feet and much warmer that the previous one but still beautiful.

So then yesterday one of my compatriots here loaned me her camera which she wasn't using anyway and had not taken a single picture.  I headed out with it to Chimney Rock State Park which is not far from Montreat.  It was hot and there were MANY steps to climb and sloping trails to walk, but it was worth it because the views were just incredible.  My motorcycle is one of the tiny little objects in the parking lot way below.

This is the famous Chimney Rock.  I was on it just a few minutes before this picture, and it really takes your breath away to be close to the edge.  Notice all the steps.  Thankfully, there's an elevator to take you most of the way up there.

The Devil's Head sits perched looking ready to fall at any moment.  It's sitting right at the edge of a precipace.

I know this doesn't look like much, but it's a waterfall that is very, very tall, and it falls over an enormous shelf of granite.  This picture is just a tiny part of it.

This is at the top of Cheaha State Park in North Alabama.  It was incredible that it was so high up.  I had been there before but forgot about that.

Linville Falls State Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Behind me is just a small section of the falls.

I took this picture on the same afternoon as the Linville Falls pictures.  It didn't come out all that well, but I though it was just a beautiful, bucolic scene.  Then right after that my camera died.
